Hey, What breakfast food is radioactive? Is it oatmeal; Toast; Eggs; Or bananas? Make your guess & I’ll tell you tomorrow. I’ll give you one hint: it’s yellow.

By the way which vegetable is the coldest? Yep, you guessed it, the cucum-brrrr!

Prov. 26:20 “Where there is no wood, the fire goes out; And where there is no talebearer, strife ceases.”

These next three proverbs warn us of the damage that is caused by slander and quarrels.

In other words, just like a fire needs fuel (wood) in the same way the gossip, the tellbearer, the whisperer, feeds trouble. Slander or whispering fuels quarreling.

Have you noticed the struggles we have had with wild forest fires, these last few years since we have been reducing the forestation methods. That’s a technical team for clearing trees that are dead or dying. Since we have taken the tactic of leaving these trees we have been experiencing catastrophic fires.

This is living proof of this first phrase of verse 20. To have an uncontrollable fire requires dry fuel. So also to have fighting, and gossip you must be giving this type of communication, room to grow.

This article was printed in the Atlanta Journal:

I am more deadly than the screaming shell of a howitzer. I win without killing. I tear down homes, break hearts, and wreck lives. I travel on the wings of the wind. No innocence is strong enough to intimidate me, no purity pure enough to daunt me. I have no regard for truth, no respect for justice, no mercy for the defenseless. My victims are as numerous as the sands of the sea, and often as innocent. I never forget and seldom forgive. My name is Gossip!

Notice this, When does strife cease? When people stop talking. On the other hand; When gossip comes to you, refuse to listen. For if it finds no place to land, it will just go back to its place of origin & disappear.

Have you become aware of the influence of social media on today‘s world? After the big Twitter blowup, we certainly have become more aware of this. Just think it has given 2 of the deadly evils of mankind a place to work their hardest. You may ask; What are those 2 deadly sins? Well since you ask they are Slander; Quarreling.

Slander: Eph. 4:29 tells us, “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is

good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear,”

Quarreling: Prov. 20:3 says, “It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife, but every fool will

be quarelling.”

Now you may ask, Does that mean that evil should never be exposed or brought to justice? No, quite the opposite is true. However, it is the leadership that God has placed in power are the ones responsible of that work, not us or others.

If we are attempting to carry this out, it is placing ourselves in a position of power, rather than allowing Him & those He has placed with that responsibility to be meted out. Then all that are concerned with the matter are benefited the most. And many times taking on that role ourselves brings harm & damage to us & those we love.

So Go With God for He always properly carry’s out justice with the best being accomplished to each person affected by His careful oversight. Rest in His plan, for He will always accomplish what is best for us.
